WHY COLLEGE POSSIBLE

Cicily Shaw has worked in higher education and at the secondary school level for over 20 years and currently serves as the Founding Director of College Counseling at Boston Trinity Academy, where she has been instrumental in developing the college counseling program since 2004. In Addition to providing college counseling to her students, Cicily has taught religion courses and served as the Interim Co-chair of the Bible Department at Boston Trinity Academy. Prior to joining Boston Trinity Academy Cicily worked in the undergraduate admission offices at Boston College as Senior Assistant Director, Bryant University as Assistant Director and Multicultural Recruiter, and Lesley University as Admission Counselor and Coordinator of Multicultural Recruitment. As a first-generation college student, Cicily is thankful for all the opportunities that have been afforded to her and considers it a blessing to give back the way in which counselors in her own life have given back to her. She holds a Master of Divinity from Boston University, a Master of Science in College Student Development & Counseling from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Care Administration from Stonehill College.  Her love for college access has fueled her passion to give back professionally. She has been a member of both the National Association for College Admission Counseling and New England Association for College Admission Counseling where she has continued to serve on national committees and the regional executive board. She is a board member for College Visions located in Providence, Rhode Island. Cicily also serves as a reader and interviewer for the Gates Scholarship Program and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated where she mentors young women of color. 

 

Given the complexity of the College Application Process and seeing a need for first-generation students and families, Cicily founded College Possible to provide a resource to families and organizations looking for a structured, authentic and personalized support as they approach the college admission process.
